Membership Types and Fees

Who can Join?

US and non-US nationals are welcome to apply for membership. The type of membership depends on whether you are a US ID card holder or not. See our FAQ's to find out more about membership eligibility.

Please note that all Coleman AeroClub members are required to do 16 hours of volunteer work for the club each year: wash 'n wax, radio watch, other club improvements as necessary.

Regular Membership

For US and NATO ID card holders (under SOFA Agreement only)

  • Initiation Fee $85
  • Monthly Dues $50
  • Monthly Radio Watch Fee $10
  • Refundable Deposit $100
  • Refundable Key Card Deposit $50
  • Service TIme: 16 hours (and/or service time buy out)
  • Required at Wax 'n Wax: Yes as Scheduled

Associate Membership

For non-ID Card holders

  • Initiation Fee $200
  • Monthly Dues $50
  • Monthly Radio Watch Fee $10
  • Refundable Deposit $250
  • Good Faith Deposit $500 (may be used towards flight time and due annually)
  • Refundable Key Card Deposit $50
  • Service TIme: 16 hours (and/or service time buy out)
  • Required at Wax 'n Wax: Yes as Scheduled

Honorary and Honorary Associate Membership

Open to all

  • Initiation Fee $5000
  • Refundable Deposit $250
  • Good Faith Deposit $500 (may be used towards flight time and due annually)
  • Monthly Radio Watch Fee $10
  • Refundable Kay Card Deposit $50
  • Monthly Dues $0
  • Service TIme: 0 hours
  • Required at Wax 'n Wax: No

Additionally Honorary and Honorary Associates are exempt from the club's service time requirements to include Wash 'n Wax. Furthermore Honorary Associates will receive unlimited free use of the club's simulator and also receive priority placement over the waiting list for Associate Membership.

Membership FAQs

Q. I am German (or a national of another country). May I join?

A. Yes, you may join as an Associate or Honorary Associate Member.

Q. I am a NATO armed forces ID card holder may I join as a regular member?

A. Yes, all NATO armed forces on active duty may join as regular members.

Q. I am a DOD civilian living overseas may I join as a regular member?

A. Yes, as long as you hold an Overseas ID Card with SOFA agreement.

Q. I hold a German Armed Forces ID card may I join as a regular member?

A. Yes, if traveling under NATO orders. However, when your NATO tour of duty is complete you will then need to apply for an associate membership.

Q. I am a foreign diplomat, consular staff member or international civil servant working here in Germany; may I join?

A. Normally yes; however unless you fall under the SOFA Agreement you must join as an Associate or Honorary Associate Member.

Q. I will be TDY in the area and would like to fly a few hours; is this possible?

A. Yes, what you will need to do is first establish an account with the manager. A $100 refundable deposit, $35 for dues and $10 for radio watch will need to be deposited. Then after each flight you will need to pay with a check or money order. When your TDY is completed you will receive your deposit back.

Q. I am in the US Army reserve may I join as a regular member?

A. Only when you are on active duty will you be able to join as a regular member. When not on active duty you will need to apply for an associate membership.

Q. I am a US citizen living here in Germany may I join?

A. Yes, you are welcome to apply but for an Associate or Honorary Associate membership only.

Q. I am a US contractor working here in Germany may I join as a regular member?

A. Yes, if you have a US or NATO I.D. card, otherwise you may join as an Associate or Honorary Associate membership.

Q. I hold retired US armed forces ID Card; can a join as a regular member?

A. No, only ID card holders with a SOFA stamp are allowed to join as regular members, but you may apply for Associate or Honorary Associate membership.

Q. I have a German pilot's license can I fly solo in your aircraft?

A. Yes you may fly solo, but your flights will be limited to German airspace as per JAR regulations.
